Author Help from Jeanette
Joy Fisher
Dear article writer,
After all your hard work
writing an article, you need your "about
the author," bio, or resource box at
the end of your article to benefit you in two
ways:
1. You want to entice the
reader to visit your website.
2. You want to link to
your website so search engines find you when
someone searches for your keyword phrase.
Guide to Writing an Article Bio or Resource Box
Bios that Work for YOU
The point of writing articles: get readers hooked
enough to visit your website. Your "About the
Author" needs to give a huge benefit to the reader
to inspire the click thru.
Ordinary bio - no strong benefit to the reader:
John Smith is the President of Business Name Inc.
and the author of Buy My Book. He lecture to
people in need. For more information and a free
ebook, visit hiswebsite.com.
Ho-hum. What's in it for me? Words like
"President" and "lecture" turn people away with no
real enticement to get the free ebook. The period
after Inc. stops the eye and breaks the message
flow.
Better:
Need (insert your specific business) help? John
Smith offers free ebook, "The Truth about John's
Keywords in 10 Easy Steps." Start your business
recovery right now at hiswebsite.com.
You can use the four letter word "free" for no
cost in articles but not in emails.
One of my bios:
Get all the help you need to sell your home with
FREE
Home Staging Information. Free
home selling tips and power secrets
from author and
interior design instructor
Jeanette Fisher who teaches home sellers five ways
to make more money (without spending more) getting
their homes ready to sell:
http://sellfast.info
People see a number and wonder what those five
ways are.
(They notice phrases in parenthesis when used in
short paragraphs.)
Notice that I use keywords to link to one site,
link to my P R site, and give the last link in
normal format so that people who won't use linking
text will at least give me one link for my
article. You must use one link like that in each
bio. You can't use linking text to your website
and the normal link on some article directories if
they link to the same page. If you have only one
landing page you want people to go to, make
another similar page on your website (without the
same words!).
For
Doghouse to Dollhouse I also have another
landing page:
Free Real Estate Investing
Information I prefer people go to the last
link which is set up like a "squeeze page" so I
list that link LAST in my bio. The first link is
to the content webpage for search engines.
Example bio from a real estate investing article
that links to a keyword phrase page deep within my
website:
Get started today making money in real estate
without worries about the pending real estate
crash. Free
real estate investing business plan from
Jeanette Fisher and free ebook, The Truth
about Making Money Flipping Houses:

Make your articles pay
you for all your hard work. Write a bio that
motivates clicks to your website and boosts your
search engine ranking.
Enjoy your article
writing!
Jeanette Fisher
P. S.
Make sure you name your bonus gift or link with
keywords that
you have a chance of capturing. Notice I use free
information
instead of just home staging or real estate.
People search for free information about their
topic of interest--hopefully your keywords!
